I see more and more groups with monks (maybe it's just roll of the die), but monks should be able to cast a couple of Reversals and be fine.

It sucks, but damage-wise, no big deal.
I have seen point like 0 against 377 even before the battle starts, cause everyone from kurzicks side died 3-4 times already. EoE will not be problem when someone acting alone. If one 4 man team does that, you can see difference clearly, monk is useless to react during the chain reaction, simple as that.

Well, one fix would be that you don't get rewarded any faction before the battle starts. That'll fix it, I think.

I think that block the skill before clock count down to zero, all the party is in position will be ready to leave. In this way, even if one team doing this thing, other teams can still cap and fight, will not be affected by their action along.

Just a remind to people who is doing this, do you realize other side can do the same thing to your side? when AB is no longer function, will ANet start to ban someone's account because you are the one doing this. Just want you to think again before you acting unwisely.

Still wouldn't fix the fact that people are killing their team and giving the other team points.

Simple fix: neither team can gain any points before the game begins. And no faction rewarded before the game begins either.

I also like your idea that you will be blocked from AvA battles as a guest in another guild or make an intelligent check to only allow this if your current guild is aligned to the same faction as the guest guild.

But.. that doesn't stop them from doing this staying in the "safe" stagging area after the game starts but at least before game start stop any unfair advantage.

I do wonder how EoE is going to be tweaked be it a global change.. or change the behavior only if in an AvA battle or if it's possible to track death by eoe (on your own team) and not allow it to count towards points in AvA.

Still doesn't solve it. They'll just keep suiciding after the game starts, and whoops, you lost anyway.
How about not giving the opposing team any points when you die by suicide?
Ideally, it should check if most of the damage done to you was from another source, so people cant Blood Renewal themselves to death to prevent giving the other team faction etc etc...

We will continue to fine tune the effects of momentum as we observe the results in-game.

For reference, here is the original update note about momentum: “Modified the algorithm that causes the alliance battle line to shift. A faction that pushes into enemy territory will temporarily gain a "momentum bonus" that helps it drive the battle line further into enemy territory.”

We are not dismissing claims that players are maliciously using EoE, infact, we will be making changes to EoE soon to prevent it.
Thanks Andrew for noticing this thread and letting us know that you're on top of it.

In the meantime i'm liking some of the counters people are thinking of...I personally think though that if you have a group of 4 people doing this at the start of an AB that the rest of the AB is fairly well pointless since your side will be 4 players down right from the start and behind in the score. Most people understandably simply leave.

FWIW I play on the kurzick side and wasn't making any comment regarding momentum...simply that when this happens to your side, whether kurzick or luxon, it pretty well ruins that AB for you and hands the other side a free win.
